I hired Debra Luster to photograph my husband and me at a black tie gala to benefit the Lyric Opera. This was the first time my husband had worn a tuxedo, so this was a big deal! (We had been married in the Canadian Rockies wearing casual attire). The event was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago so we decided to stay overnight and make a weekend of it.
Debra started by meeting us in our room and taking photos of us preparing for the event, i.e. putting on my makeup, etc. Debra was a consummate professional and made us feel comfortable in every way. We then went to the lobby and gained early access to the entry area for the ballroom. We were extremely fortunate as the Lyric Opera had decorated for the event using various elaborate props from their operas. Debra utilized these props to make our pictures totally unique.
We could not have dreamt this up! We had so much fun in the process and that was reflected in the pictures that we ultimately received. The quality of the photos was tremendous. I now consider the picture album to be one of our most treasured possessions. I would highly recommend Debra as a photographer for any special event that you may have.
